Biography

Kristian Lax-Walker advises preprofessional students in the Center for Health Sciences Advising. She guides students in their preparation to apply to the health professions, she also organizes programming to enhance students' science identity and to offer opportunities for mentorship. Kristian also serves as the faculty advisor for the Multicultural Pre-medical Society.

Kristian is a doctoral student at Kansas State University in the College of Education where she earned her M.S. in academic advising. Kristian is a graduate research assistant for CASTLE, which is housed in the Alliance for Catholic Education (ACE). Her research interests include issues in academic advising and higher education, the impact of advising on college student persistence, and advisor burnout and well-being.
